It's Been A While...

..since I've had to do any geometry..but to make this I had to work out how to fit an equilateral triangle into a circle..(This new set of doily stamps from Crafty Individuals is great for these baubles.) I guessed and fudged it but you can do it the easy way here.. just use an ordinary compass.. he uses a fancy bit of kit.

You need to stamp 15 doilies, punch them out with a 21/2 inch punch.
Use the compass to draw a circle the same size as the punched circle.. calculate your triangle, make a template of the triangle

place on the circles and score and fold.. glue five together for the top, put the hanging loop in place before gluing the last one in place., then another five for the bottom. Glue ten into a ring for the center, glue top and bottom in place..
If you make one leave a comment so I can come and see!

Run, Run....

...as fast as you can! You can't catch me I'm the Gingerbread Man!
This one is made from Kraft cardstock, it's an old Sizzix die so I'm not sure if it's still available..

But the Window Box die is quite recent and it's new to me.

This one is spoken for ...

I think there may be quite a few uses for this die.

Just Hanging....

... Around...It's November's colour challenge over on the Ribbon Girl blog..This month the colour is red..
I know... I've used a lot of blue too but that just sets off the red!

There's some fab little wooden shapes in shop, hearts, stars, labels and reindeer too.
I covered them in patterned paper..

Added some rusty bells, Merry Christmas ribbon..(out of stock at the moment but keep checking)

Gingham ribbon.. and all tied together with button twine onto a length of garden twine..
I was going to add bling to the garland but sometimes less is more.
If you would like the chance to win some ribbony goodness and a great prize from Marianne Designs then hop on over here to add your red project.
Sadly this will be my last post for the Ribbon Girl, it's time to step aside and take a break.

Gingerbread ....

... houses.. I had these little houses left over from last year, they're from Tando Creative and come in packs of three.

The gingerbread man is a stamp but I have no idea where I got him from...the blue glitter grass is an icicle die from Marianne.

the roofs are covered with Doodlebug chunky sugar coating glitter.

...how to make a peg wreath...draw a 24cm diameter circle on chipboard, draw another 18cm diameter circle within the first... cut out and cover with patterned paper... I used kraft.

Cut a motif to hang in the middle... Tim Holtz layered snowflake.

Arrange 24 pegs evenly around the circle... glue in place.

Add your decorations... I used a sheet of Elle's Studio Noel collection paper and punched out the numbers. Some were glued to the pegs and others fixed with foam pads.

it would work with small rosettes

If you make one leave me a link so I can come visit.

I Just Love...

... Snowtex! This snowman's head is simply a polystyrene ball covered in Snowtex and the sprinkled with Glamour dust. It's easy to apply. I dabbed it on using a paintbrush.
The body is a circle of velvet gathered and filled with rice. To attach the head a small dowel is pushed into the polystyrene ball, it's the glued into the neck of the gathered velvet.... after you've added the ruff.

A pointy hat completes his outfit.

For a fluffy look just apply the Snowtex with a palette knife.

I got mine from Oyster Stamps.... I have no connection with them... they were the cheapest and had it in stock... Free P&P didn't hurt either!
